About Kurt Soderling:
Kurt started in the film industry after graduating from Chapman University with a Degree in Film and Television in 1986. He became a camera assistant for John M. Stephens in 1987 and by the early 90's Kurt had trained under John and several other cameramen and moved up to be a Camera Operator and purchased his own 35mm Camera Package. In 1994, at the age of 29, Kurt was the 1st unit DP on "The Magic Golden Bear" with Cheech Marin and Mr. T.
 
In 1994, Kurt worked with helicoptor Pilot, David Jones who trained him how to be an aerial cameraman. He started by shooting the Aerials on "The River Wild"and really making a name for himself as an Aerial Director of Photography.
 
In 1996, Kurt was the Aerial DP on "Independence Day" where he designed and built an aerial system with Pilot, Kevin Larosa on a T-28 fixed wing airplane. They flew this system into the grand canyon to shoot the background plates for the chase sequence in the film.
 
He also shot the opening of "The Birdcage" and was one of the first to succeed at transitioning an aerial shot with a ground shot.  
In 1997, Kurt worked on the 1st unit with Jim Cameron on the film "Titanic". Still to this day the #1 Box office biggest grossing movie ever.    
"Dantes Peak" where he worked with Piercs Brosnan, and then Pierce became our Spokesperson for "Save The Whales Again" Campaign.  
"Armageddon" well it was armageddon... Working with NASA
and the Military......Cool!
 
In 2003 he worked on "Seabiscuit" shooting the aerials as well as the 2nd unit/ground unit for the opening sequence
and of course there was
"Pearl Harbor"
 



 
Another film where the world is on the brink of destruction is
In 2004, he added a little comedy to the mix by shooting the aerials on "Meet the Fockers"  
In the early 2000's , Kurt formed his own production company "Soderling Productions" and began to Direct / Shoot and Produce his own projects. He has won awards for his work, and now he owns / operates his own High Definition Camera Packages, he also has Lighting and Grip packages as well as Sound, Telepromptor and HD Editing Bays. Kurt has over 100 Feature Film and Television shows to his credit, and brings all this experience to every job he does.
